Malcolm L. Howell, MD
Dr. Howell graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia in 1984 and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
A Richmond native, Dr. Howell completed both his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia and then began in private practice in Newnan, Georgia. He returned to his hometown to join Richmond OB-Gyn Associates in 1990.
Dr. Howell is Board Certified and a member of the American College of OB-Gyn. He has enjoyed getting to know so many interesting patients and their families over the past 22 years of private practice. Dr. Howell is interested in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology including well women and problem office gynecology, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, major gynecologic surgery and office therapies for heavy and painful menstrual bleeding. He cares for general and high-risk obstetric patients and considers it a privilege to be a trusted part of such an exciting and important time of his patient’s lives.
Dr. Howell and his wife of 30 years, Debbie have two daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, his dogs, cats and horses, and attending Virginia Tech football games.
